Beavers go Wild, Fota Island Wildlife Park, 25th March

Our Beavers are signed up for the Beavers go Wild event in Fota Island Wildlife Park this coming Saturday 25th March!
Individual event “passports”  and event badges will be provided for each Beaver.
Each Beaver needs to bring their Neckerchief (obligatory for entry to the park), and needs raingear & packed lunch in a small rucksack.
Our assigned group entry time to the park is 10 am, so could I ask that all Beavers assemble in the Fota car park between 09:30 and 09:45am, so we can enter as a group at our assigned time (hundreds of Beavers from all over Munster are attending, so logistics are key) .
Pick up will be at 14:30 in the Fota Car park.
NB there is a €3 charge to exit the carpark, so please consider carpooling to cut the cost & number of vehicles, if you can.
If your Beaver cannot attend for some reason please let me know, as we have others interested in attending and can transfer your ticket and refund you.
Yours in Scouting,

Kevin

Adult Awards

Scouting Ireland is a Youth Focused organisation, that operates by the volunteer mentoring and guidance of adults (Scouters). Scouters undergo extensive training, beginning with an Introduction to Scouting and culminating in the completion of a personal project. The successful completion of this project results in the Scouter being awarded their Wood Badge (Beads & Gilwell Scarf) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wood_Badge

Our County Commissioner presented the Wood Badge Beads and Certification to two 55th Cork Scouters at the Group Council Meeting.  Two more Scouters received their five year Service Awards. Volunteers make Scouting possible, but it is personally rewarding and ultimately great fun!
