Scouting Ireland is a Youth Focused organisation, that operates by the volunteer mentoring and guidance of adults (Scouters). Scouters undergo extensive training, beginning with an Introduction to Scouting and culminating in the completion of a personal project. The successful completion of this project results in the Scouter being awarded their Wood Badge (Beads & Gilwell Scarf) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wood_Badge
Our County Commissioner presented the Wood Badge Beads and Certification to two 55th Cork Scouters at the Group Council Meeting. Two more Scouters received their five year Service Awards. Volunteers make Scouting possible, but it is personally rewarding and ultimately great fun!
As we enter the second half of the Scouting Calendar, we would like to remind all parents who opted for the split payment of subscription fees that the second and final installment is due to the Group Treasurer by the end of January.
Thank you for your cooperation and continued support in the interests of all our Youth Members.
Yours in Scouting
55 Cork Group Council
